      Job Summary

      The Chemist position analyzes rubber samples to confirm compliance with specifications.  When anomalies or quality issues arise, the Chemist is the first point of problem-solving contact and works with various areas of the company to determine any necessary compound adjustments.  The Chemist works with the company’s Chief Chemist in making lab improvements and adjustments to procedures.  The Chemist may travel to industry conferences and training as needed.

      Job Functions

      • Development of rubber compounds for a variety of markets and applications;

      Set up, operate and tend milling and tube extruder machines to mix, mill and shape rubber or silicone material for molding. Use job traveler for specifications and conformance. Work closely with plant chemist to ensure proper chemicals, dye creams oils and materials are used when preparing to mill rubber or silicone components.

      DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

      Read and interpret job travelers to assess specifications and to determine mixing and material instructions needed to mill rubber components.

      Observe milling machine operation and adjust controls to ensure conformance with specified tolerances such as mill speed, lubrication and density.

      The starting pay for this position is $14.50 per hour.

      The Shipping & Receiving Assistant Lead is the primary back-up for the department, assisting the Lead in packaging and processing finished small, specialized rubber product for shipment to customers. Responsibilities may include the maintenance of detailed, computerized records of incoming and outgoing parts, workflow management, processing of required department paperwork and shipping documents, and handling of incoming raw materials.  This position supports problem-solving and root cause analysis for the shipping & receiving department.

      PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

      This position is paid weekly at the rate of $11.00- $15.50 per hour based on experience.

      The Mill Operator sets up, operates and tends milling machines to mix, mill and shape rubber material for molding. The mill operator uses job documents for mixing instructions and runs the mixing mill as the last step in creating the material before it goes to the molding department. This position is an entry level position with training provided, no experience necessary, though it helps to have some exposure to working in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is reliable, dependable, and willing to be part of a team.

      Primary Responsibilities

      The Mill Operator:

      • Reads and interprets job documents for mixing and material instructions needed to mill rubber components;
      • Observes the milling machine operation and adjusts controls such as mill speed, lubrication and density;
      • Continuously tends the machine and the material, feeding material back into the rollers and sometimes adding components until the material reaches proper consistency;
      • Verifies dimensions of rubber material using various instruments such as rulers, gauges and calipers;
      • Delivers samples to the on-site lab for testing, as necessary;
      • Removes rubber material and places it according to instructions on racks in the mill room or cold storage;

      Job Requirements

      • Experience with data entry of job information into the computer;

      The ideal candidate will have significant experience overseeing and directing quality in an ISO 13485 environment.

      • Plans, coordinates, and directs quality control program across multiple locations designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards;
